HI.

I’m Mark–a versatile narrator and voice talent with over 30 years of experience in communications, broadcast, theatre, voiceover, advertising, and non-profit leadership.

In addition to voice work, I serve as the general manager of RADIOLEX, Lexington’s community radio station. I host shows, conduct interviews, and produce spots, promos, and public service announcements all in service of our mission to elevate voices historically underrepresented in mainstream media.

With ad agency experience as a creative director, writer, and graphic and web designer, I bring a holistic creative approach to my work.

As a published poet, award-winning copywriter, essayist, and short story author, I deeply appreciate our shared human experience.

I’m passionate about art, literature, history & music; creativity & design; spirituality & recovery, leadership, productivity, and non-profit management.

But wait!  There’s more: I’ve enjoyed some amazing adventures throughout my wild and winding creative career:

In Party Monster-era New York, I interned at Circle Rep Theatre on the premiere of “The Truth Teller” by Joyce Carol Oates while holding down a temp job at Electra Records

As a buyer for the iconic J. Peterman Company catalog (of Seinfeld fame) I coordinated with 20th Century Fox to sell original and reproduction costumes and props from the blockbuster Titanic and attended the premiere at Mann’s Chinese Theatre.

As Director of Communications for the University of Kentucky College of Design, I helped persuade the World Monuments Fund to recognize Bluegrass Cultural Landscape of Kentucky as one of the most endangered landscapes on the planet.

In my private life, I’m a longtime meditator, and I’ve trained with some of the leading Buddhist and mindfulness teachers in the country. I’ve studied the spiritual and mystical traditions of both the East and the West extensively.

I even hosted the popular but short-lived “Mad Mister Mark’s Podcast of Mystery,” where I interviewed influential figures within the contemporary esoteric scene.

And believe it or not, I started my college career training to become a Southern Baptist preacher.

My extensive creative background has equipped me with unique set of skills that I bring to every project. I’m not just a voice talent – I’m a strategic thinker, a creative problem solver, and a leader who knows how to get things done. I understand the importance of meeting deadlines, staying within budget, and delivering quality work every time.

If you’re looking for voice talent who is not just skilled but also friendly and professional, look no further.

Contact me today to discuss your project.  I’ll even offer a complimentary custom audition to see if we’re a good fit.  Let’s collaborate to create something truly remarkable!

LOGO & LORE

My logo is a stylized griffin from the Royse family crest.  It’s a reminder that I don’t do anything alone.  Generations of men & women, lovers & fighters, saints & sinners, heroes & thieves got me to where I am today.  Their lives, lusts, and loves stir my blood, drive my desires, and keep the whole grand show going.
